The Library of Cirin Icerider

In the northern regions of Emuria, in a dense forest on top of a high hill, with the City of Ashton visible in the distance, there stands a modest stone cottage with a little two-story stone tower and a large chimney on the back of it.  You can reach it by following a narrow foot-trail from the main road up the hill, when you get there you find it stands in the middle of a small clearing.

As you get closer, you realize that there is a letter is posted to the stout wooden door of the house.

Dear Esteemed Visitor,

If you have come to my home, I bid you welcome.  If you wish to enter, knock on the door, and I may let you in if I am at home.  I am glad to share my library and that which I have learned over my many decades of traveling the eastern half of the Continent of Avalon.  I have many books to share, and many maps I have made in my career as a Cartographer.  Please come in so we can share a nice cup of tea.

If I am not in you may drop a letter at my doorstep or have it delivered by courier or pigeon to my home.

Cirin Icerider
Cartographer and Master Sorcerer in the Stonegate Mages Guild
Servant of the Plane of Life

If you knock and he happens to be home, an elven man of indeterminate age (it's so hard to tell with elves), with a long ponytail and wearing a dark blue cloak and a big pointy hat comes to the door, a silver sword with strange blue glyphs along the blade in one hand, and the other hand brightly glowing with a massive amount of magical power.

"Please step inside, and make yourself welcome."

The Library and Atlas

I keep many books around, copied by hand from the libraries I have visited in my day.  They detail much of the lore of this half of the Continent of Avalon.  Here are some of the more interesting books I have to share, and some directions on how to get to some of the finest libraries on the Continent.

The Tyrran Cosmology, By Janos Rigley of Nerida's Gate  A Comprehensive and Groundbreaking text on the structure of the planes and the universe surrounding the world of Tyrra.

Clanbook of the Highlanders, a traditional text.  The history and culture of the Five Clans of the Phoenix, who wage a war against the Duchy of Volta in Evendarr to reclaim their lost homeland.

A History of the Biata Race, By Jihaval Toron.  A book that claims to hold the history and culture of the Biata.  Since that people have little to do with me since I am a caster of Celestial Magic, I cannot vouch for the accuracy of this document, but it is a fascinating read.

Lands of Ashbury Overrun by the Sessuar, an excerpt of Travelling Around Tyrra Lady Guildmistress Zara of the Ravenholt Astrologers' Guild. The most widely accepted work on the culture and lands of the implacable enemies of all civilized people on Avalon ,the Sessuar Imperium.

The Nations of Avalon and the Accords of Avalon, by Sir Tivorak Nobel.  A series of answered questions about this new alliance among many nations of the continent of Avalon.

The Map of Avalon, Updated on August 8, 603.  This is the Pride and Joy of my cartographic work.  I consider it the most thorough, frequently updated and accurate map possible of the Continent of Avalon.  This maps is intended to be up to date as of August 8, 603 E.R.  Recent additions include the Kingdoms of Fengate and Izendorn, as well as the Republic of Galerus, as well as Tyrangel's new status as a Sovereign Realm instead of a Duchy of Evendarr, and the new Southlands territories opened up by a recent expedition from the twin kingdoms of the Cynder Valley.

Example Scrolls.  Not a book or map, per se.  These are examples of well written and properly scribed Celestial Battle Magic Scrolls.  (OOG: They are templates for good phys-reps, print them out and staple the tag to the bottom.  I left it as a .doc file so that it can be edited or amended as needed by whoever downloads it)

War Stories and Tales told around the Fire

"In my many years, I have seen many things.  I have seen Empires crumble and Kingdoms arise,  I've seen madmen elevated as nobles, and I've seen the forces of the cosmos walk the world many times.  I've seen the greatest of mortal mages throwing spells of legendary power in duels where the very spirit of the loser would be forever lost.  I've had the very will of the Plane of Life itself save my life in a battle with darkest Chaos and the Void twice now.    This is where I will tell you what really happened on some of the events you may have heard about elsewhere only in history books."

Merchants to Visit

"No traveler is complete without his equipment.  A warm cloak is as important as a sharp blade on the trail, and I've seen a stout suit of armor mean the difference between victory and needing the care of a healer or undertaker.  If you want to be well equipped for your next trip or adventure, perhaps you should visit a good merchant.  There are a few I can refer you to. . ."

Carey Costuming A fine maker of clothing and accessories, including a nice quill pen set.

Fae Armory Makers of clothing and leather armor

NEROstuff.com Specializing in the adventuring sort, they carry what a fellow needs to equip themselves for danger.

Larpware.com A merchant that sells all sorts of things needed for adventuring.

By The Sword Sellers of armor, decorations and fine odds & ends.

Valentine Armouries Expensive, but makers of the very finest armor you will ever see.

Full Circle Creations It isn't quite set up yet, but this is the clothier who made my fine new outfit sells her wares (some of you may know her as Madam Zara).

SCABoots It is so hard to find a good pair of boots these days, but these people sell solid, decent boots for a fair price.  They sold me the pair of boots I wear when adventuring.

Games Online.  They are also the main source for those good looking new swords and daggers that are starting to turn up (OOG: The main authorized dealer for the Injection Molded weapons playtest from NERO International).
